For fifth straight day, NYC Ferry announced, the landing on Roosevelt Island remains closed. The original cause was “mechanical” problems, and now, they say they are doing repairs. But a visit yesterday – see above – found no work going on at all.

UPDATE: February 12th, 8:30 a.m. Ferry Service resumed for Roosevelt Island.
A four day closing in January blamed the same “mechanical” problems. Seemingly identical problems are now indicated for a five day shutdown. But a visit to the landing, yesterday afternoon, found the location idle with no repairs going on.
