Start

Girl Scout Cookie superstar Maya Rodney, from Roosevelt Island in New York City, graces boxes cookie lovers get this year. Mom Joan Rodney shared the good news yesterday.

“Just wanted to share and pass along to you that Roosevelt Island’s very own has been chosen to be featured on MILLIONS of Girl Scout cookie boxes nationwide. Maya (our 9 year old daughter) is part of Troop 3002 on Roosevelt Island.”

Think Outside the Box

“What’s inside the box is super tasty, but it’s the amazing experiences that happen outside the cookie box that make Girl Scout Cookies® extra special.”

Selling Girl Scout Cookies adds skills to their experiences. Learning to succeed through planning, teamwork and a positive outlook.

The proceeds go to worthy causes, says Mom Joan. In fact, some stays local, supporting scouting activities. It might be STEM learning, service work or camping.

But it stays on Roosevelt Island, building community through scouting.

A Girl Scout is…

It’s more than selling cookies for Maya and her troop. According to their webpage: “When she’s a Girl Scout, she’s also a G.I.R.L. Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader.”

And it’s not just Maya. It’s Troop 3002, and that gang of entrepreneurs (and more) includes her sister Madison. Here’s how to buy…

Helping Girl Scouts just makes sense. It builds community, and it’s one of our reliable, annual guilty pleasures.
