We know that there are a lot of our neighbors and residents of RI that have not received the knock on their door from a Girl Scout offering our famous and delicious Girl Scout Cookies.
The wait is over! You can buy your favorite Girl Scout Cookies and buy the new flavor this Saturday March 19th at the Farmers Market!

The youngest of the Girl Scouts of RI will have their Annual Cookie Booth Sale with every single flavor. They are eager to see, talk and suggest flavors to all our Roosevelt Islanders.

“We can’t send them cookies but we can feed them!”, the slogan of this booth sale. This time, we are not asking for donations for cookies to help us go camping, instead we will have a bright Yellow & Blue donation jar to help the victims of the war at Ukraine through World Central Kitchen non-for-profit organization created and lead by Spanish chef Jose Andres. His organization is feeding everyone in need at Ukraine and the Polish border. EVERYONE.

A reminder of what Girl Scouts/ Girl Guides can do.

As Troop Leaders we hope that we are teaching them bigger lessons. Like how to organize, set up, and be of service when it matters. Here are some sisters in Poland providing aide to refugees from Ukraine. Which I think is awesome because compassion IS cool. 🇵🇱 🇺🇦

Supporting our own girls, their own projects and Ukraine at the same table… If you wish to donate cookies online:tinyurl.com/troop3233

See you at the Farmers Market as early as 10:30 until we sold out!

Stack Work Advances While Answers Do Not

Stack Work Advances While Answers Do Not

HPD told the CAG there was no projected start date and that five business days’ notice would be given. Work on the eastern smokestack began six days later.

On June 17 and 18, HPD told the first meeting of the Roosevelt Island Steam Plant Demolition Community Advisory Group that smokestack demolition had no projected start date. Residents and the CAG would receive at least five business days’ advance notice once a date was set. Scaffolding around the stacks could not proceed until soil removal and backfill were complete and the area stabilized.
