Neighbors, it’s back and bigger than ever! Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation (RIOC) is bringing the beloved Summer Movie Series to Southpoint Park, and we couldn’t be more excited to watch the sunset roll into storytime under the stars.

This year’s series features four fantastic films, all shown on a massive 40-foot screen with sweeping East River views. They’re full-evening experiences, complete with:

  • Food vendors serving tasty bites on-site
  • Live music before the film begins
  • A community slide presentation to celebrate our island spirit

What to Know Before You Go

  • Location: Southpoint Park
  • Start Time: The event kicks off at 7:00 PM, with the movie beginning at sunset
  • Admission: Free and open to all. Bring your blankets, chairs, and good vibes

Movie Lineup
Mark your calendars for these film favorites:

Rain Dates
Just in case Mother Nature has plans of her own, rain dates are set for August 8 and August 15.

Let’s gather as a community and make movie magic together! Invite friends, meet neighbors, and share in the joy of summer cinema.

There’s nothing quite like a warm Roosevelt Island evening filled with music, laughter, and movie moments. We’ll see you at Southpoint Park, popcorn in hand and stars overhead.

Observations from the part of the meeting most people stop listening to. Notes about maintenance, responsibility, and who was in the room.

This is the final installment in my notes from the December 2nd, Operations Advisory Committee meeting, following “An Emergency, Apparently” and “Rust Is Funny Until It Isn’t”.
