A Tradition That Keeps Growing
If you’re new around here, the Farmers Market has been part of the community for over 35 years. Every Saturday, it brings together local farmers, vendors, and neighbors for a colorful morning full of fresh fruit, veggies, baked goods, and friendly faces. During the colder months, it huddles under the Motorgate Helix to stay warm and dry, but once the sun peeks out, it blossoms right back to the center of island life. Don’t miss out on Alon Kruvi’s Aviva as you walk to the market, a special highlight for many visitors.
Compost with Care
While you’re shopping, don’t forget to bring along your fruit and veggie scraps, coffee grounds, or eggshells. The Haki and Big Reuse community compost program continues each Saturday at Motorgate Plaza, near Foodtown, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. It’s a small habit that makes a big difference.
Coffee Break? Try Alon Kruvi’s Aviva
This weekend also brings a cozy new addition to Main Street—Alon Kruvi’s Aviva, a charming coffee shop now open just steps from the Farmers Market. If Alon’s name sounds familiar, that’s because he’s also the owner of the beloved Mediterranean Eatery across the street. His new café offers a welcoming space with fresh pastries, donuts, muffins, and rich Italian-style coffee.

With indoor and outdoor seating and plans to introduce sandwiches and salads soon, Alon Kruvi’s Aviva is quickly becoming a local favorite. Whether you’re grabbing a cup on your way to the market or settling in for a quiet moment after shopping, it’s definitely worth a visit.
Come Rain or Shine or stop and hide at Alon’s Aviva when it rains
This Saturday’s weather might bring a little drizzle, but that won’t stop the community spirit. Grab your umbrella, your reusable tote, and maybe a neighbor or two, and enjoy the fresh start to spring. Between fresh produce and your first sip from Alon Kruvi’s Aviva, there’s something to brighten everyone’s weekend.
See you at the market!
