The Brooklyn Heights Promenade is a great place to walk, jog, or just take in the sights

The Brooklyn Heights Promenade is not only a great spot to get in a few steps on your evening stroll, but it’s also the perfect place to give your eyes a workout as well.

Take in the surreal skyline of lower Manhattan, blended with traditional Brooklyn charm. Enjoy picturesque views of the East River and its passing boats.

Treat yourself to some truly incredible selfie opportunities; after all, look at how much you deserve that new profile pic.

Get inspired by gorgeous sunsets that sometimes rival those posters of tropical beaches. Who says you have to leave NYC for an awesome view?

It’s also a great place to people-watch – you never know who you’ll see!

Brooklyn Heights is a great place to get some fresh air and to check out the view of New York City – but it’s also an excellent spot for people-watching!

With Brooklyn Bridge Park nearby, there are always plenty of interesting characters strutting by, from colorful performers to stylish Brooklynites strolling hand-in-hand.

It’s like a live theater + art gallery show, except all you have to do is grab a seat at one of Brooklyn Height’s outdoor cafes and take in the show. You never know who you’re going to see or what surprises might be in store.

The promenade is especially beautiful at night when you can see the lights of Manhattan

The Brooklyn Heights Promenade is an absolute gift at night. Taking a stroll along the promenade offers a breathtaking view of Manhattan and the harbor, complete with twinkling lights on towering buildings and bridges.

But then when you look across the river, Manhattan’s skyline shimmers and glows. You’ll swear you can hear the city’s pulse in the air–or maybe that’s just your own heart thumping in excitement. From Brooklyn Heights, it takes on an ethereal beauty.

If you’re feeling adventurous and want to take a daring dip in the East River, good luck! Though it might look inviting from a distance, we all know that the famous river isn’t exactly renowned for its cleanliness.

Humorous stories of half-submerged bicycles, old phone cases and even unidentifiable objects may circle around the river’s banks, but who knows what could be lurking underneath?

The brave dares have one final thing to remember: no matter how much you prepare yourself for the murky waters ahead, all courage can come undone when faced with an impending penguin-shaped float.

Just be careful not to get too close to the edge…

Brooklyn Heights has some of the most phenomenal views, whether you’re admiring it from the Brooklyn Promenade or meandering around Brooklyn Bridge Park. But if you want to get up close and personal with the spectacular Brooklyn cityscape, be careful not to get too close to the edge – one wrong step could mean a one-way trip down to the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway.

Although a little dangerous, taking a look at downtown Manhattan from above is truly breathtaking. It may be unsettling at first but it’ll be totally worth it – after all, it’s not every day that you can look down at America’s greatest from such an intimidating perspective.
