The Roosevelt Island Daily News
(5/10/22, Roosevelt Island, NY, NY) On May 20-22, The Main Street Theatre teen students, under the direction of Jacqueline Lucid, are set to take the stage once again in CURTAINS, the Tony and Drama Desk award-winning musical comedy featuring one of the last scores by the legendary songwriting team of Kander & Ebb.
“It’s the brassy, bright, and promising year of 1959. Boston’s Colonial Theatre is host to the opening night performance of a new musical. When the leading lady mysteriously dies on stage the entire cast & crew are suspects. Enter a local detective, who just happens to be a musical theatre fan! Packed with glorious tunes and a witty, charming script filled with delightful characters, CURTAINS is a hilarious journey for both performers and the audience.” – Theatrical Rights Worldwide

“I Can Ask”
Chair Fay Christian opened the Operations Advisory Committee on February 12th, reading out member names from a prepared sheet that omitted Melissa Wade. It didn’t feel intentional, but it struck me as odd precisely because it came from something prepared. Lydia Tang gently corrected her, noting that Wade was, in fact, a member of the committee. Wade met the moment with grace, or perhaps she simply wasn’t bothered by it.
