The Red Street Corner is a kind of urban still life I caught on a visit to Reykjavik, Iceland. Some of Reykjavik’s unusual beauty is the clarity of light spread across distances in the long sunrises and sunsets near the arctic. The shadows are longer, the colors more intense.
Short distances from the city center, the streets are often free of traffic and pedestrians, leaving transparent vistas and long views across the harbor toward mountains waiting for winter to cap them again in snow and ice.
