Hey friends! It’s almost that time again — pumpkins on doorsteps, costumes in the works, and Roosevelt Island getting ready for one of its most beloved community celebrations. The Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation (RIOC) just announced this year’s Halloween Extravaganza & Parade, promising a day full of fun, music, food, and frightful delight for all ages.

What’s Happening

According to RIOC’s Instagram announcement, this year’s Halloween celebration will feature:

  • costume parade, where neighbors of all ages can march, cheer, and show off their creative spirit.
  • Games and activities for families and kids, perfect for a fall afternoon outdoors.
  • Live music and entertainment to keep the mood festive and bright.
  • Food and treats from local vendors to fuel the fun.

While full details are still on the way, RIOC encourages everyone to follow their page for updates on times, routes, and event maps.

When and Where

  • Date: Saturday, October 25, 10:15 am
  • Location: Capobianco Field

The parade and festivities will stretch from afternoon into the evening, filling the Island with that unmistakable October magic.

Why It Matters

Events like these remind us what makes Roosevelt Island so special — a small-town heart right in the middle of the city. It’s a day to see familiar faces, celebrate creativity, and let our imaginations roam wild. From kids in costumes to parents joining the parade, it’s a true community moment that shows how connected we really are.

So grab your masks, capes, and candy buckets — and get ready to celebrate Halloween the Roosevelt Island way!
