Friends, June is almost here, and with it comes a beautiful opportunity to stand together as a community. One of the highlights will be a Pride flag raising ceremony. As we step into Pride Month, Roosevelt Island is ready to celebrate love, acceptance, and unity. This celebration will take place with a very special gathering in front of one of our most historic spots.

The Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation (RIOC) is proud to host a Pride flag raising ceremony on Monday, June 2nd at 11:00 AM in front of Blackwell House (500 Main Street).

This vibrant event is more than just a symbol. It’s a show of solidarity with our LGBTQIA+ neighbors, a celebration of inclusivity, and a public affirmation that everyone belongs here on Roosevelt Island.

A Community That Stands Together

RIOC’s team will be joined by local LGBTQIA+ residents, allies, and community leaders in raising the Pride flag. This act speaks volumes about the values we share. In a world where visibility and acceptance matter more than ever, events like this remind us what Roosevelt Island is all about: respect, love, and community spirit.

So bring your flags, your smiles, and your open hearts, neighbors. Let’s raise the colors high and show the world what Roosevelt Island is made of. See you at Blackwell House on June 2nd! Don’t forget RIVAA is also celebrating Pride and is looking for artist for their June Gallery Show.
