Neighbors, if you’ve walked by the RIVAA Gallery these past Sundays, you’ve probably felt the joyful buzz of paintbrushes and laughter spilling out the windows. The Summer Fun Children’s Art Workshops are wrapping up this weekend, and we’re all invited to celebrate their grand finale!
A Sunday of Creativity and Celebration
When: Sunday, August 3
What:
- 10:00 AM – Doll Making Workshop
- 12:00 PM – Closing Reception & Art Pick-Up
Where: RIVAA Gallery, 527 Main Street
This Sunday marks the last of RIVAA’s three free art workshops for kids, and it promises to be a heartwarming send-off. Children will dive into the whimsical world of doll making, using an array of colorful materials provided by the gallery. The workshop encourages freedom, storytelling, and hands-on fun perfect for budding artists with big imaginations.
And don’t worry, friends RIVAA knows creativity can get a little messy. Come dressed for glue, glitter, and greatness.
A Gallery of Young Talent
After the morning workshop, everyone is invited back at noon for a closing reception. The gallery will showcase the incredible artworks created during the series, including collages, prints, and of course—handcrafted dolls.
It’s a chance for families, friends, and community members to celebrate the creativity of Roosevelt Island’s youngest artists. There’ll be time to mingle, admire the pieces on display, and pick up your child’s artwork to take home.
Why It Matters
RIVAA’s summer programming gives our children more than a fun morning—it provides them a space to express, explore, and build confidence. These workshops nurture artistic curiosity while fostering community through shared creativity.
Whether you joined for collage-making, printmaking, or this Sunday’s doll-building adventure, these moments remind us that art is for everyone, and Roosevelt Island is richer for it.
See You There!
So come by, say hello, and let’s cheer on the Island’s youngest creators. The art is vibrant, the spirit is high, and you just might leave inspired to create something of your own.
A Job With a Predictable Ending
The role looks stable from the outside. A President and CEO is appointed. A contract is approved. A salary is set.
