Help Beautify Roosevelt Island’s Most Iconic Park on May 3rd for I Love My Park Day
Looking for a fun, meaningful way to give back to your community this spring? Roosevelt Island residents and friends are invited to participate in “I Love My Park Day” at FDR Four Freedoms State Park on Friday, May 3rd, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
This annual event is part of a statewide initiative hosted by Parks & Trails New York. It’s one of the best ways to support the stewardship and beautification of New York’s public parks. Whether you’re a seasoned green thumb or just want to lend a hand, all are welcome to join for I Love My Park Day.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Volunteers will help with a variety of tasks including:
- Gardening and weeding the grounds
- Litter pickup and park cleanup
- Planting and beautifying key areas of the park
You’ll be working alongside community members and park staff. Together, you’ll help maintain one of Roosevelt Island’s most beloved spaces. Plus, it’s a great chance to meet neighbors and get outdoors. You can contribute to a cleaner, greener New York City during the I Love My Park Day event.

🎁 Dedicate an Adirondack Chair and Support Our Programs
Honor someone special with a personalized message on one of the Park’s iconic Adirondack chairs. Your contribution supports Four Freedoms Park Conservancy’s 2025 public programs, ensuring the park remains vibrant and accessible to all.
Chairs will be displayed from May 12 to November 11, 2025—a lasting tribute and a beautiful way to mark a moment that matters. Learn more about this yearly tradition and dedicate a chair here.
