Yeah, crocuses poked out of the soil along Central Park’s pathways, but the first day of spring, 2021, blossomed with something else: People.

After the long, COVID year, a refreshing spring meant people relaxing — with their dogs — and reading in Central Park. That was normal, something we haven’t had enough of for a long time.

That sang, “Spring,” for me, but of course, for many others, crocuses are the real first sign of spring.
