RIVAA lands Bogdan Matei for Poses and Imaginary objects, a solo exhibit in its 527 Main Street Gallery on Roosevelt Island. Everyone’s welcome to a free opening reception on Saturday evening, September 7th, from 6:00 to 9:00.

Bogdan Matei’s solo show runs from September 7th thru October 6th. His paintings have highlighted exhibits in Europe and the U.S., and now, they arrive at Gallery RIVAA.
Poses and Imaginary objects colorfully fills the gap left open by the closing of Unexpected, a RIVAA group show from this summer.
“This collection captures for me the ambivalence of life, of soul and matter, as the objects depicted move aimlessly in time and space.”

His journey as a painter, Matei says, became a “carnival… connected by my love of color.”
